Impressions learned from attending Twitter X-Spaces

X-Spaces is a place for discussion and open dialogue on a specific prearranged subject.

A Host guides the Space by inviting speakers with questions and comments to the Stage who request to speak.

Stay on Topic

If the topic gets off-track and starts changing, bring it back to the main issue, while promising to have another Space covering that topic and to promote the Space before it happens, giving the option for users to X-reminders.

Co-host - posting links to the Nest (a banner of posts placed above the attending avatars shown)

  • follows attendees & invites attendees to follow hosts

  • add attendees to a List and keep the list public within Twitter-X

  • host & co-host(s) acknowledge attendees with Welcome, inviting them to ask questions and call on raising hands allowing them on Stage to Speak - do this consistently.

  • may be only allowed so many on Stage so may be a rotating Speaking list, acknowledge this and reassure that they can come back up

  • monitor the Chat for any questions specifying who asked the question, welcoming them and thanking them.

After the Space closes, Post a thank you to all who attended.

Invite people in the know as questioners & resources:

  • they may introduce or respond to the subject
  • be educational, not pedantic
  • answer questions as best you can
  • allow the host to guide the space

Give rewards for sharing the Space

If the purpose is to onboard people onto your platform:

  • be educational
  • be guiding to resources
  • deal with “what is”

Stay away from:

  • what the future “is coming”
  • high tech
  • faults / fixes
  • arguments
  • have a place that’s safe for them to go to ask questions and guidance
    Without:
  • ridicule
  • impatience
  • short, quipped answers

Create community

  • no talk with divisive language
  • stay kind, be patient, considerate,
  • invite speakers, aim for high etiquette
